STEP ONE
Quick chat:
If you’re interested to find out more about how our Set Menu kitchen might work for you, the best way to start is with a quick chat. It’s a chance for us to find out more about your plans and desires for your project, and we can answer your questions and tell you a bit more about how we work, and what you can expect from working with us.
What you’ll need….
- A plan of your space, with basic measurements and a ceiling height

STEP TWO
Sketch design and costing:
If you’re at a more advanced stage of planning, and you have a timescale and budget in place for your project, we can put together a sketch design and costing for you.
This starts with us asking questions about you and your personal sense of style, how you want to use the space, the appliances you want to integrate, and the materials and details that will make it work perfectly for you.
We’ll create a sketch plan that responds to your brief, we’ll put together a schedule of great-quality appliances that would work well in your design, and prepare an itemised costings for your cabinetry, worktops, and installation, so you can feel confident that you’re on spec and on budget.
What you’ll need….
- A timeframe for when you’d like your project to be completed. If you’re desired completion date is more than 9 months away, it may be best for us to put a proposal together closer to your intended installation date, so that the costings remain valid and accurate.
- Your budget for the project. We always create designs in line with the budget you are comfortable with, so you can have cost-surety and no nasty surprises.
STEP THREE
Detailed design and
sign-off:
If you’re happy and excited by our proposal, and you’d like to go ahead, that’s great! We’ll send you an invoice for the initial payment (10% of your budget), and we’ll get working on your detailed design drawings.
We’ll send you the design in the form of 2D plans and elevations, with labels to you know where everything is. We’ll take your feedback and amendments, and work these designs up into Sign-off drawings, complete with full services coordination information, so your contractor can prepare the electrical and plumbing connections.
When your entirely happy with the design and you’re ready to sign off, we’ll send you an invoice for the 2nd payment (45% of your budget) and order materials and appliances ready for making.
What you’ll need….
- Accurate measurements of your space. If you do not have technical drawings from an architect or builder, that’s no problem. We can help you take the required measurements on Zoom or WhatsApp in around 30 minutes. You hold the tape measure, we’ll take the reading. It’s easy, and saves you loads.
- Your final decisions on the wood, appliances and details you’d like to be included.
- Contractor / electrician and plumber in place so we can coordinate our work with the

STEP FOUR
Making:
We’ll start making your project around 6-8 weeks before your desires installation date. Cabinets and doors are made first, with doors, drawer boxes, and internal linings made next. We finish all our cabinetry in-house in our own spray shop. Everything is then assembled, tested and honed to make sure all the i’s are dotted, and all the t’s are crossed.
We encourage all our clients to visit us, so they can see the craftsmanship and quality of our work for themselves. Some clients like to visit for an in-person briefing session, whilst other come during the designs stage to discuss options, details, materials and amendments. However, it’s great fun to visit towards the end of the making stage, so you can see your project put together in the workshop, try out the doors and drawers, and build up the anticipation for when everything’s installed in your home.
We wrap, handle and transport all our projects ourselves, so you can be assured your kitchen will arrive in perfect condition, ready for install. When everything is complete in the workshop, we’ll send you photos of your project, and the final invoice (for the remaining balance), and book your installation into our workshop schedule.
What you’ll need….
-A specific date for installation.
- A time to visit the workshop and see your project take shape. This isn’t compulsory, but we know our clients love to see the care and craftsmanship that goes into their project, and our workshop team love to show visitor their work.
STEP FIVE
Installation and completion:
As we install projects all over the UK, we tend to start installation on a Monday, and out work is usually complete by the end of the week. We can do this part so efficiently because out Set Menu kitchens embody the decades of experience we’ve built up in designing and fitting high-end cabinetry. Our installation process is as honed as the design and making of our woodwork.
We generally organise worktops to be templated on the Thursday, and these are usually installed the next week, ready for your plumber and electrician to connect sinks, taps, appliances and sockets. We’ll call you before, during and after installation to make sure everything is as you’d expected, and take care of any final tweaks.
What you’ll need….
- The details of your contractor, electrician, and plumber (and gas engineer, if necessary) so that we can liaise and coordinate with them to ensure a smooth installation.
