"Can I visit the workshop...?"

October

2024

Hey design-lovers,

When clients are considering working with us, they often ask:

‘Can I visit the workshop?’

This is music to our ears, and the answer is ‘YES!’ Visiting the workshop is not only allowed, it’s hugely encouraged. It’s a chance for you to see our craftsmanship for yourself, to get up close with the materials and finishes we'll use on your project, and you can meet our team of talented makers who’ll take your project from raw timber and panels to a beautiful, personal kitchen expertly installed in your home.

Take a tour around a recent mid-century kitchen project in our workshop...

When’s best to visit……..

We find there are a couple of stages in people's kitchen journey where they tend to visit us, and both have their advantages…..

If you’re considering us for your project…. then you might want to come before making your final decision. This is great time, as it allows you to see and feel for yourself the quality of the work we do here. We set up all of our projects in the workshop, and there is always cabinetry in the process of completion, so you can take a close look at our cabinetry and woodwork, open the doors and drawers, and get a really good idea for how it would feel in your own home.

During your visit, we can sit down with you in our comfortable meeting room, and discuss your project, go through the finer details, and show you samples of woods and finishes, so you feel confident in making the choices that are right for you and your home. We find that these face-to-face discussions are hugely fruitful, and many prospective clients leave with a completed design and costing for their project.

If you’re already working with us on your project….. then we very much encourage you to visit whilst during the making stage. We’ll let you know when your project is being set up, so you can feel what it’ll be like when everything is installed in your home.

We’ll introduce you to our workshop manager, David, who will be managing the installation of your project on site, and you can meet our team of talented makers who’ve been creating your project.

As you may know, we make a lot more than kitchens, and many clients are interested to see some of the furniture and more unusual pieces we’ve made. These are on display in our meeting room, and we’d be delighted to tell you all about them.

How to find us....

Address: H. Miller Bros Ltd, 59-61 Blundell St, Liverpool, L1 0AJ, UK (Google Maps)

Travelling by car:

From The South via M6: If you’re driving up from the south of England, the best route is via the M6 and then M62, which takes you into Liverpool. From here, you’ll work your way towards the river front, and we are 0.25 miles south of the Albert dock.

From Cheshire via M56: If you’re based in Cheshire, we’re around 30 minutes from where you turn off the M56 to access the Mersey Gateway bridge. From here, you work your way North, past Liverpool Airport and through Garston and Aigburth.

From the Wirral / North Wales: We can be accessed by either the M53 and the Wallasey tunnel, then along the river front, or via the A41 and the Birkenhead tunnel. If taking the Birkenhead tunnel, you’ll save around 10-15 minutes if you take the dock exit, rather than coming all the way up to the museum exit.

From the North: As with driving from the south, it’s easiest to access us via the M6 and then along the M62.

Parking: 2 hours free parking on the road immediately outside our workshop.

Travelling by train:

Regional and national trains: We’re approximately 15 minutes walk / 5 minutes in a taxi from Liverpool Lime Street station, which is the main inter-city station. It’s only 2hrs15 on the train from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street.

Local Trains: We’re approx. 15 minutes walk / 5 minutes in a taxi from Liverpool Central, Liverpool James Street, Liverpool Lime Street, and Brunswick stations. When Liverpool Baltic Station is completed (due end 2027), we will be 5 minutes walk away.

Travelling by air:

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL): We are approx. 6.5miles / 25 minutes in a taxi from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with direct flights to over 100 destinations across Europe.

Manchester Airport (MAN): We are approx. 35miles / 50 minutes in a taxi from Manchester Airport, with direct flights to over 100 destinations across Europe.

Other things to do whilst you’re here….

As we’re on the doorstep of the Liverpool’s waterfront and city centre, you might like to combine your visit us with some other stops….

  • We’re 0.5 miles from the Royal Albert Dock, the largest collection of Grade-1 listed buildings in the UK, and home to lots of great restaurants and cafes, as well as TATE Liverpool.

  • We’re 0.6 miles from the hugely impressive Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, the largest religious building in the UK.

  • We’re 1 mile from Liverpool’s collection of national galleries and museums, including the Walker Art Gallery, where our collection dining chair is part of the permanent collection.

  • We’re 1 mile from The Three Graces, Liverpool’s iconic early 20th Century waterfront buildings.

  • We’re only 3 miles from Anfield, home of Liverpool FC.
